We believe that school leaders need different types of support at different stages of their development. To accommodate this need, we offer a variety of leadership academies to support teacher leaders, potential school administrators, new assistant principals, potential principals and new principals.
Each academy is specifically designed to include the appropriate knowledge at each level with a special emphasis on helping leaders apply these skills in their schools.
We believe that teacher evaluation—when done well—results in teachers’ developing and strengthening their instructional skills leading to increased student achievement. When done poorly, it becomes a compliance activity for both administrators and teachers. We work closely with school district officials to design a teacher evaluation training that meets the needs of the district, using the district’s evaluation instrument.
While most evaluation trainings focus solely on inter-rater agreement, we provide leaders with the skills that make teacher evaluation a vital part of improving instruction. We emphasize creating a common understanding of quality instruction between those being evaluated and those doing the evaluations, accurate data-collection techniques, aligning teacher behaviors with instrumentation, inter-rater agreement, and providing effective feedback through conferencing.
We believe that when leaders grow, schools grow. And we know that highly effective leaders—regardless of experience—constantly engage in the deliberate practice, with effective feedback, that allows them to develop new skills and strengthen existing ones.
We provide high-quality school leadership coaching in a safe one-on-one environment that pushes leaders out of their comfort zones and propels them into higher levels of performance
We believe that when school leaders understand change, they are better able to lead change in schools. Effective leaders understand the patterns of effective—and ineffective—change and how to help different types of people to adapt and thrive in this type of environment.
Blending what we know about the human brain’s need for certainty and the organizational need for change, leaders can better lead their schools when equipped with the knowledge and skills of leading change.
We believe that in schools where the leadership team works together, schools perform well. We assist principals in developing a strong leadership team that has a unified vision of school improvement with a laser-like focus on instructional support and student achievement results.
Teams learn how to create and implement a common school leadership approach that allows each member to develop the skills to influence the organization to reach higher levels of achievement.
We believe that effective leaders recognize the differences in the people they lead and possess a variety of leadership skills that can be adapted to meet the needs of the individuals and the organization.
Leaders will be able to easily identify the different types of people that they lead and learn specific leadership strategies and techniques that influence all people to align with the mission of the school.
